Honestly, all the new moves shouldve just been entered into the P1 system with a button combo or contextual move. While I love dual-wielding and think it's actually lore-friendly (I mean why would you not morph two weapons at once), if it means that we lose the dynamic combos we could pull off in P1 then it's a no from me. Whitelight pointed out that dual-wielding is to blame. Prototype 2 held your hand every step of the way. Unlocking all of Alex's abilities and mastering the ability to use them seamlessly in combat made you feel like a badass. Yes it's cool that you can now do a blade tornado, and I love the claw pounce, but that comes at the expense of moveset depth.

It's two steps forward and a step back, imo. I get this is a power fantasy game, but the mechanics have to challenge you to some degree or else you’ll get bored. As for the hunters and soldiers, it’s the simple fact that you can keep them in place with parries and throws. Being able to just one-shot vehicles through a prompt is just ridiculous. As for the prompts, it’s for the vehicles, hunters, and super soldiers. Why even dodge stuff, when you can get super easy parries? Also, it’s hilarious when the AI loops and allows you to just parry the same move until it’s about dead.

You can basically just sit there and take a beating from everything for however long you want, plus the super generous parry window trivializes combat. As I said, the shield is just way too good. Sometimes I’m struggling to get the camera in a good position and get smacked by stuff I can’t see, which leads to some aggravating encounters. The camera is tough to handle, the shield is way too good, and some of the prompts trivialize fights.
